Jameis Winston Shines During Florida State Spring Game (Tomahawk Nation)

Whether you expected it or just hoped it to be so, Jameis Winston ran away with the show during Saturday’s Spring Game. He threw the only two touchdowns against the first team defense. And if you thought there was a buzz about the quarterback situation before Saturday, well, you haven’t seen anything yet…

Stefon Diggs, Brandon Ross Highlight Uneventful Maryland Spring Game (Testudo Times)

Looks like Maryland’s football staff might’ve done a little too good of a job evenly splitting up their roster. The Terps’ spring game ended in a 13-13 tie between the Red and White teams, a final score observers say was fitting given the (perhaps predictable) low quality of play. Not that the score or performance really matter, though…

Let the “Controversy” Begin — Chad Voytik’s Big Spring Game Could Ramp Up Quarterback Battle With Tom Savage at Pitt (Cardiac Hill)

And with that, Pitt could have a quarterback battle on its hands. If you missed the Panthers’ Blue-Gold game on Friday, expected backup quarterback Chad Voytik had a huge game. Unfortunately for him, as good as he was, the others guys on the roster were just better (Sam Bradford, Landry Jones)…

Stephen Morris, Duke Johnson Show Why Miami Hurricanes are Optimistic for 2013 (Palm Beach Post)

Spring practice came to a conclusion on Saturday for the University of Miami with quarterback Stephen Morris and tailback Duke Johnson providing the big plays during the Orange and White game at Sun Life Stadium. For the first time in several years, UM ends spring practice with realistic expectations that the upcoming season can be a breakthrough for a football program that hasn’t won 10 games since 2003…

Eli and Peyton Manning Find Second Home With Duke Football and David Cutcliffe (Duke Chronicle)

Eli Manning said he and his brother Peyton haven’t slept in the same household for a few days since Peyton was back in college and would come home to visit. But when the two NFL star quarterbacks reunited this week, it wasn’t where they grew up in New Orleans or where they play in New York or Denver…

UNC Football Unveils New All-Black Uniforms (Daily Tar Heel)

The North Carolina football team unveiled new all-black alternate uniforms during halftime of Saturday’s Spring Game. The uniforms will be worn on Oct. 17 against Miami on what UNC football is calling “Zero Dark Thursday.” The event is the first installment of a new “Tar Pit Series,” which will feature a new alternate jersey or helmet one game each year, according to an official UNC release…
