USC 42 – Syracuse 29: The Best 0-2 Team In The Nation (Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician)

Here’s what I told Conquest Chronicles is my pre-game Q&A answers last week about how I thought the game between the Syracuse Orange and USC Trojans: I’m not gonna sit here and tell you I think Syracuse can win the game. I’ll certainly be hoping for it. If nothing else, I’d like to see the Orange at least keep it competitive for 2 and a half quarters…

With Sammy Watkins Back, Tigers’ Offense an Embarrassment of Riches (Orange and White)

As DeAndre Hopkins returned to Clemson’s sideline after posting up a Ball State cornerback for his third touchdown of the first half Saturday, he was approached by Sammy Watkins. “(Watkins told Hopkins), ‘You can’t score no more,’” junior quarterback Tajh Boyd said following the Tigers’ 52-27 win. “You’re running away from me right now”…

Lopsided Loss Leaves Blue Devils Bewildered (Durham Herald-Sun)

As good as Duke’s players and coaches felt a week earlier, the atmosphere around the football team was the opposite on Sunday night. After a resounding 46-26 season-opening win over Florida International, the Blue Devils were trounced 50-13 at Stanford late Saturday night. The game, played in Palo Alto, Calif., didn’t end until nearly 2 a.m. (ET) and Duke’s traveling party didn’t return home until around 10 a.m. Sunday…

But it was the backups like Cornellius “Tank” Carradine and Giorgio Newberry who many of them didn’t know…

Clemson Throttles Ball State, But Defensive Questions Remain (Shakin’ the Southland)

Not a whole lot you can say about games like this, Ball State was just outmatched like I thought they were going into it. And what a kick by Spencer Benton! New ACC and Clemson record. Tajh Boyd and DeAndre Hopkins both destroyed the Ball State secondary, and I dont think anyone, including FSU, can cover both Hopkins and Watkins when he returns to action…

Why Is Attendance Down in College Football (Carolina March)

One of the complaints that kept bouncing around Twitter after last weeks game was the poor attendance in Kenan Statdium, especially for the second half, and particularly for the north (visitor’s side). That was the side facing the press box and TV cameras, which allowed the media to quickly snap embarrassing photos of Carolina’s fan support. UNC was the only team suffering from attendance woes…
